Stuart Fowler (d. 2018) had an earned MA (Distinction) and PhD from Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education, South Africa (now known as the Potchefstroom campus of North West University). He was an Australian born of Anglo-Celtic ethnic background. An ancestor was the Rev Archie Cameron who was the first Presbyterian minister to come to Australia to minister to the Scots settlers which explains the Celtic part. Fowler of course is pure English.
Joy, his co-worker and wife, is Canadian born of Austrian/German parents. They met in Kenya in 1975, and married early the next year. They have no children of our own flesh but have several in Africa who look to them as parents?which fits well with African culture.
Stuart was a founder member of CPCHEA and IAPCHE. He was an adjunct (part-time) professor at the University of Fort Hare, South Africa. He had also held positions at Scott Theological College, Kenya and at the National Institute for Christian Education, Australia. He was a philosopher and had a special interest in Africa.
Several of Stuart and Joy's books can be obtained from Amani educational eBooks.
