About Me

Irving is Full Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Calgary. He is an elected Fellow of boththe Royal Anthropological Institute and Royal Historical Society and listed in Whose Who in Canada. He has published 37books and monographs and 83 academic articles and chapters in books plus 72encyclopedia articles. His is latest book is Understanding World Religions, (Zondervan, 2011). In 2008 he wasawarded a Festschrift at the HumboldtUniversity in Berlin. Its title is Border Crossings: The Explorations of an Inter-disciplinary Historian, edited by Ulrich van derHeyden and Andreas Feldtkeller (Stuttgart, Franz Steiner Verlag, 2008).
